Group Ceyssens recently invested 14 million euros in a new production hall of nearly 10,000 m² featuring a fully automated production line. Construction of the new hall began in March 2020, right at the start of the first COVID-19 lockdown. Despite the fact that the factory was forced to close for four weeks during that period, the project suffered no significant delays, and the new line has been running at full capacity since June 2021.
CEO Dirk Ceyssens: “The challenge was considerable. We gave ourselves about a year to make the transition from traditional manual production methods to a fully automated process. Thanks to the dedication of our employees and a constructive partnership with our suppliers, we successfully completed this feat. We built the new hall of nearly 10,000 m² in just a few months, allowing us to start assembling the new production line in October 2020. In February 2021, barely five months later, the testing phase began—the ideal way to train our staff in the new production methods. Fully automated production commenced in May, and since June, just 10 months after assembly began, we have been operating at full capacity. The entire process has become safer and more ergonomic, and to top it off, the final product is of even higher quality—truly state-of-the-art. Specifically, we now have an annual capacity of 200,000 m² of glass, which is sufficient to serve all our customers efficiently and flexibly. For further growth, Group Ceyssens is looking beyond the Benelux to high-net-worth clients in the South of France, Russia, and the United States for our high-end products.”
